Washington:

President-elect Donald Trump has reiterated his firm stance on countries that refuse to take back migrants, stating that he will not engage in business with such nations. In an interview with Time magazine after being named the 2024 “Person of the Year” for the second time, Trump emphasized his determination to ensure cooperation on migrant repatriation.

“I’ll get them into every country, or we won’t do business with those countries,” Trump declared. He was recognized for his “historic comeback” by the magazine, highlighting his unwavering commitment to border security and immigration policies.

Trump emphasized his intention to impose substantial tariffs on countries that fail to comply with repatriation demands. “I want them out, and the countries have got to take them back, and if they don’t take them back, we won’t do business with those countries, and we will tariff those countries very substantially,” he stated.

The President-elect expressed his willingness to take decisive action to ensure the deportation of illegal immigrants, even if it involves the use of military force. “Whatever it takes to get them out. I don’t care. Honestly, whatever it takes to get them out,” he affirmed.

Trump also emphasized the importance of keeping families together during deportation processes, ensuring that parents and children are deported together regardless of their immigration status. He underscored the need for legal immigration processes, stating, “We don’t want people to come in from jails. We’re not accepting their prisoners. We’re not accepting their murderers.”

With a focus on upholding the laws of the country, Trump expressed his commitment to using the National Guard to enforce deportation measures. “We’ll get National Guard, and we’ll go as far as I’m allowed to go, according to the laws of our country,” he affirmed.
