Chris Cuomo Extends Contract with NewsNation
Former CNN and ABC News correspondent, Chris Cuomo, has signed a new agreement to continue hosting his primetime program, “Cuomo,” on NewsNation for the next few years. Cuomo joined NewsNation in 2022 and has become a key figure on the network.
In a statement regarding the deal, Cuomo expressed his excitement about staying with NewsNation, highlighting the platform’s focus on delivering unbiased news and analysis. He stated, “Where else but NewsNation can you expose the game instead of being forced to play? Let’s get after it!”
Nexstar’s networks division president, Sean Compton, praised Cuomo’s contribution to NewsNation, noting his unique talent for analysis and commentary. Compton emphasized Cuomo’s belief in NewsNation’s mission of providing “News for All Americans” and expressed the network’s delight in having him as a key part of their primetime lineup.
Cuomo’s tenure at CNN came to an end in late 2021 amidst controversy surrounding his involvement in his brother’s defense against sexual harassment allegations. Despite the challenges, Cuomo has found a new home at NewsNation where he continues to cover politics, media, and conduct insightful interviews with newsmakers.
One of the standout segments on Cuomo’s show is “Have Your Say with Chris,” where viewers can engage directly with the host by calling in and posing questions. Additionally, Cuomo has hosted special events like a recent two-hour primetime discussion on the 2024 election, featuring notable guests from various fields.
