Reward Doubled for Information on Gage Park Mass Shooting
Chicago authorities have doubled the reward for any information that can help solve and prosecute the mass shooting that occurred at a house party in Gage Park, resulting in the tragic deaths of three men and injuries to five others. The victims have been identified as migrants.
The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) recently announced an additional $10,000 reward on top of the existing Cook County Crime Stoppers reward for any valuable information related to the incident.
The shooting took place on December 2 in the 3500 block of West 59th Street, where police found eight individuals shot, including four men and four women aged between 20 and 35. Unfortunately, three of the men, Osmer Angel Ferrer Oria, Hector Victor Miguel Sojo Vargas, and Jhan Carlos Blanquissett (also known as Jon Carlos Blancarcer), lost their lives in the tragic event.
According to witnesses, the shooting occurred during a birthday party where a renowned DJ from Venezuela was performing.
Special Agent Christopher Amon of the ATF’s Chicago Field Division expressed the gravity of the situation, calling it a “tragic crime” that is both brazen and unthinkable, especially during the holiday season. The ATF is collaborating closely with law enforcement agencies and Crime Stoppers to identify and locate the perpetrators and is urging the public to come forward with any relevant information.
