Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan showcased his skills with an incredible shot that helped him reach his half-century during Day 2 of the opening Test against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi. Facing a sharp bouncer from pacer Nahid Rana, Rizwan found himself in a tricky situation, unsure whether to play or leave the ball. In a split second decision, he went for the shot while trying to duck, resulting in a boundary that also marked his half-century milestone.

The impressive shot occurred in the 53rd over of Pakistan’s innings, with Nahid delivering a bouncer aimed at the batter’s chest. Despite the difficult position, Rizwan managed to guide the ball over two slip fielders, sending it racing to the boundary. Notably, he repeated the same shot on the following delivery, hitting back-to-back boundaries.

The Pakistan Cricket official handle shared the video of Rizwan’s shot, praising his innovation and success on the field. The caption highlighted Rizwan’s continuous improvement and determination.

In addition to Rizwan’s remarkable performance, batsmen Saud Shakeel and Saim Ayub also played a crucial role in Pakistan’s dominance over Bangladesh on Day 2. The duo built a century-plus partnership for the fifth wicket, steering the team towards a strong position after a shaky start. Despite early setbacks with opener Abdullah Shafique, skipper Shan Masood, and Babar Azam, Shakeel and Rizwan’s partnership helped stabilize the innings.

As of the latest update, Pakistan stands at 241/4 after 62.4 overs, with Shakeel and Rizwan leading the charge. Both players are on the brink of completing their centuries, adding to the team’s commanding position in the match. Bangladesh’s pacers, Shoriful Islam and Hasan Mahmud, who claimed two wickets each on Day 1, struggled to make an impact on Day 2. The visitors will need to break the partnership between Shakeel and Rizwan to stage a comeback in the game.
