Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd provided an update on Luka Dončić following a burglary at the star player’s home. Kidd mentioned that Dončić is “doing fine” after the incident and expressed relief that no one was hurt. He reached out to Dončić to offer support and reassurance.

The burglary took place while Dončić was not at home, and it is currently under investigation. Reports indicate that jewelry valued at approximately $30,000 was stolen from the residence. The identity of the burglar(s) remains unknown at this time.

Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident among professional athletes. In recent months, several athletes have had their homes targeted by burglars. The list includes Mike Conley, Bobby Portis, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Joe Burrow. The NFL and NBA have issued warnings about the threat of burglary groups specifically targeting the homes of athletes.

The NBA’s memo highlighted the presence of “transnational South American Theft Groups” that use advanced techniques and technologies to carry out their crimes. These groups are described as well-organized and sophisticated, utilizing methods such as pre-surveillance, drones, and signal jamming devices.

In addition to dealing with the aftermath of the burglary, Dončić is also recovering from a left calf strain that he sustained during a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on December 25. He is expected to be sidelined for at least a month as he focuses on his recovery.

Despite these challenges, the Mavericks have continued to compete on the court. They recently started a four-game road trip with a victory against the Phoenix Suns. The team is showing resilience in the face of adversity and remains focused on their goals.

As the investigation into the burglary at Dončić’s home continues, the Mavericks and the NBA community are offering their support to the star player. The safety and well-being of athletes are of utmost importance, and efforts are being made to enhance security measures to prevent future incidents.
