Cook County Crime Stoppers is offering a $10,000 reward for information that could help Chicago police solve a brutal murder case. The victim, 29-year-old Al Walker, was found on fire in an alley behind the 6700 block of South Prairie on October 12. He succumbed to his injuries three days later. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Walker had been physically assaulted and then set on fire inside a motor vehicle, leading to his death being classified as a homicide.

Walker’s family faced additional trauma as they were not informed of his death until last month due to difficulties in identifying him. His mother, Tashanna Jenkins, expressed her devastation in a recent interview, stating, “I buried him the Tuesday right before Thanksgiving, the worst day of my life. I never thought I would bury one of my kids. I always thought my kids would bury me… He did not deserve to be burned alive.”

In an effort to bring justice to Walker’s family and hold the perpetrators accountable, Cook County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the indictment or arrest of those responsible for his death. Tipsters can provide information anonymously through TIPS@cookcountycrimestoppers.org or by calling 800-535-STOP.

The organization ensures the confidentiality of tipsters to encourage the sharing of crucial information that could help solve the case. This initiative aims to provide a safe avenue for individuals to come forward with any relevant details without fear of retribution.

If you have any information related to the murder of Al Walker, please consider reaching out to Cook County Crime Stoppers. Your tip could make a significant difference in bringing closure to Walker’s loved ones and ensuring that justice is served.
