The prestigious John Michael Kohler Arts Center is currently accepting applications for its renowned Arts/Industry program. This program, which has been running for 50 years, offers 12 residency openings in 2026 for artists from around the world to explore new ideas and processes using the resources of the Kohler Co. factory in Wisconsin.

During the residency, artists have access to studio space in the industrial foundry and pottery of Kohler Co. They are provided with industrial materials, equipment, technical assistance, housing, round-trip transportation, and a modest weekly stipend. Artists from all disciplines are welcome to apply, regardless of their experience working with metal or clay.

The residency program hosts four artists at a time, with two in the pottery and two in the foundry. Residents are expected to commit to a full three-month residency period, during which they can experiment with new materials and processes while interacting with skilled craftspeople from Kohler Co.

To learn more about the Arts/Industry program and watch alumni videos, visit their website. If you’re interested in applying for the residency, visit jmkac.org/applications before the deadline on February 28, 2025.

Arts/Industry is a unique collaboration between the John Michael Kohler Arts Center and Kohler Co, with the residency program being administered by the former and generously funded by the latter. Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to be part of a program that has nurtured hundreds of artists over the years and continues to push the boundaries of creativity.
