Manchester United legend Jaap Stam has expressed his disappointment in Marcus Rashford’s recent comments about potentially leaving the club. The former defender believes that Rashford is taking the easy way out amidst criticism and should instead show more fight on the pitch.

Rashford, who has been under fire for his performances, hinted at a possible exit from Manchester United in a recent interview. Stam feels that the 27-year-old winger should have shown more dedication and commitment to the club, rather than looking for an easy way out.

“I think saying you want to leave is the easy way out because it’s been a tough period and he’s faced a lot of criticism for his performances, but we haven’t seen enough fight on the pitch,” Stam commented on Rashford’s situation at the club. He added, “I think if he was showing that then there would be a different mood towards him and more credit being paid to him. Maybe it would be good for both him and the club for him to move on, but I would’ve liked to have seen him give everything for the club.”

Rashford, who has scored 138 goals and provided 63 assists in 426 games for Manchester United, recently spoke about his potential exit from the club. He emphasized that his departure would be without any hard feelings towards the club and that he would not make the situation worse by speaking negatively about his time at Old Trafford.

The England international’s form has been inconsistent this season, with new head coach Ruben Amorim leaving him out of the matchday squad in the last three games. Despite scoring seven goals and assisting three others in 24 appearances, Rashford has failed to make a significant impact in recent matches.

As Rashford contemplates his future at Manchester United, his comments have sparked a debate among fans and pundits. While some believe that he should stay and fight for his place in the team, others feel that a move away could be beneficial for both parties.

In conclusion, Rashford’s future at Manchester United remains uncertain, and only time will tell whether he decides to stay and prove his critics wrong or seek a new challenge elsewhere. His decision will undoubtedly have a significant impact on the club and his career moving forward.
