In the world of politics, experience and intellect can be powerful weapons. And in the case of Joe Biden versus Donald Trump, it seems that Biden has the upper hand.
With over fifty years of federal governing experience under his belt, Biden has been using his knowledge and expertise to make strategic moves during his final days in office. On the other hand, Trump, who technically only has four years of experience as president, spent more time on the golf course than actually governing.
Recently, Trump took to Truth Social to express his frustration with Biden’s actions, accusing him of making the transition difficult with costly executive orders like the ban on offshore drilling expansion. Trump vowed to overturn these orders once he takes office again, claiming that they are part of a “Green New Scam” and other “money-wasting hoaxes.”
However, Biden’s use of a 1953 law to ban offshore drilling expansion has put Trump in a difficult position. Despite his claims that he can easily reverse the order, the reality is quite different. The law has no provision for reversing Biden’s order, and any attempt by Trump to issue an executive order to overturn it would likely result in legal challenges that he would struggle to win.
Biden’s strategic move has left Trump ten steps behind, with little room to maneuver. The president-elect has effectively outsmarted Trump, but it seems that Trump has yet to realize it.
