Lisa Hamilton Daly Departs Hallmark Media

After joining Hallmark Media in 2021, Lisa Hamilton Daly is no longer with the company. In a recent announcement on Monday morning, Hallmark revealed that her role as EVP of programming has been eliminated.

According to the company’s statement, Hallmark is consolidating its consumer-facing touchpoints, including content, under the leadership of Chief Brand Officer Darren Abbott. Abbott, known for his deep understanding of the Hallmark brand, will oversee content across various platforms, ensuring it aligns with the brand’s legacy. As a result of this restructuring, Lisa Hamilton Daly will be departing from the company. The statement also acknowledged Daly’s creative talents and contributions to expanding Hallmark Media’s storytelling and characters.

Hamilton Daly, who previously held positions at Netflix and A+E Networks, was appointed in September 2021.

This development comes in the wake of a lawsuit filed against Daly and Hallmark for alleged age discrimination, defamation, and wrongful termination by former casting agent Penny Perry. The lawsuit, filed on Oct. 9, claimed that Hamilton Daly made discriminatory remarks about certain actors, including Holly Robinson Peete and Lacey Chabert, based on their age.

The lawsuit alleged that Hamilton Daly referred to Robinson Peete and Chabert as “old talent” that needed to be replaced, citing reasons such as age and cost. Other actors named in the lawsuit include Elizabeth Mitchell, Catherine Bell, Alison Sweeney, and more.

In response to the allegations, Hallmark stated, “Lacey and Holly have a home at Hallmark. We do not generally comment on pending litigation. And while we deny these outrageous allegations, we are not going to discuss an employment relationship in the media.”
