Denver Medical Examiner Identifies Second Victim in 16th Street Mall Stabbings
Denver’s medical examiner has identified the second person who lost their life in a series of stabbings that occurred on the 16th Street Mall over the weekend.
Nicholas Burkett, aged 34, succumbed to a stab wound at Denver Health around 9:38 p.m. on Sunday, as confirmed by officials from the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.
Tragically, Burkett’s death has been classified as a homicide.
He was the fourth victim of the stabbing spree that authorities believe was a random series of attacks along the popular pedestrian shopping street on Saturday and Sunday. Among the casualties was Celinda Levno, a 71-year-old flight attendant from Phoenix who was fatally attacked on Saturday during a layover.
Additionally, a 49-year-old man and a 62-year-old man sustained injuries in separate incidents.
Elijah Caudill, 24, has been apprehended by Denver police on charges of first-degree murder and attempted murder in connection to the case.
