Burglaries of Professional Athletes’ Homes on the Rise

Despite several high-profile incidents in recent months, burglaries of professional athletes’ homes show no signs of slowing down. The latest victim is Falcons cornerback Antonio Hamilton Sr., whose Georgia home was burglarized early Friday morning, as reported by TMZ.

Security cameras captured three men breaking into Hamilton’s home through the back door while he was out of town celebrating his 32nd birthday. The burglars made off with a safe containing firearms and multiple expensive handbags before fleeing the scene.

Hamilton took to Instagram to share a bible verse, urging everyone to stay alert against unforeseen dangers. The incident adds to a string of burglaries targeting professional athletes, with recent cases involving Bengals’ Joe Burrow, Chiefs’ Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, Mavericks’ Luka Doncic, and Cavaliers’ Ty Jerome.

These incidents have prompted warnings from the NFL and NBA about the targeting of athletes by organized crime groups. Reports suggest that these groups employ sophisticated techniques such as pre-surveillance, drones, and signal jamming devices to carry out their criminal activities.
