‘Ripley,’ ‘Fallout,’ ‘Fargo’ Claim Location Managers Guild Awards

‘Ripley,’ ‘Fallout,’ ‘Fargo’ Claim Location Managers Guild Awards

The 11th annual Location Managers Guild International Awards took place at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, where Emmy contenders such as “Fallout,” “Fargo,” and “Ripley” emerged as winners. The event also saw motion picture awards go to “Oppenheimer” and “Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning – Part 1,” which were filmed in various locations around the world.

“Fallout” was shot in Utah, New York, and Namibia, while “Fargo” took place in Alberta, Canada, and “Ripley” was filmed in Italy. The commercial category was dominated by “Toyota: Present from the Past,” which was filmed in Washington State.

The Outstanding Film Commission Award was presented to Film in Iceland for their support of “True Detective: Night Country.” The ceremony, hosted by actress and producer Rachael Harris, also honored individuals such as supervising location manager Sue Quinn, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award, and location manager Bill Bowling, who was awarded the Trailblazer Award.

The Motion Picture & Television Fund was recognized with the Guild’s Humanitarian Award for their dedication to providing health and social services to the entertainment community. The event featured presenters such as Camilla Belle, Helena-Alexis Seymour, and Doug Jones.

The competitive winners included:

– Outstanding Locations in a Period Television Series: “Fallout”
– Outstanding Locations in a Contemporary Television Series: “Fargo” Season 5
– Outstanding Locations in a TV Serial Program, Anthology, MOW or Limited Series: “Ripley”
– Outstanding Locations in a Period Feature Film: “Oppenheimer”
– Outstanding Locations in a Contemporary Feature Film: “Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning – Part 1”
– Outstanding Film Commission: Film in Iceland for “True Detective: Night Country”
– Outstanding Locations in a Commercial: Toyota: “Present from the Past”

Overall, the Location Managers Guild International Awards celebrated the hard work and dedication of location managers and film commissions in bringing various projects to life.
