President Trump Takes Action to Combat Anti-Semitism in the United States
COMBATING ANTI-SEMITISM IN THE UNITED STATES: President Donald J. Trump has signed an Executive Order aimed at combating anti-Semitism in the country. This new Order builds upon Executive Order 13899 and introduces unprecedented measures to address the rise of anti-Semitism on campuses and in communities since October 7, 2023.
- Under the new Order, every Federal executive department and agency leader will conduct a review and report to the White House within sixty days on the criminal and civil authorities available to combat anti-Semitism effectively.
- The Department of Justice will take immediate action to maintain law and order, prevent pro-Hamas vandalism and intimidation, and investigate and prosecute instances of anti-Jewish racism in universities and colleges.
- The Order also mandates the removal of resident aliens who violate U.S. laws, particularly those involved in anti-Semitic activities.
ENFORCING LAW AND ORDER TO PROTECT CIVIL RIGHTS: Following the terrorist attacks against Israel on October 7, 2023, a wave of anti-Semitic incidents erupted across the country. Pro-Hamas supporters and left-wing radicals engaged in acts of intimidation, vandalism, and violence targeting Jewish Americans.
- Despite these attacks, the Biden Administration failed to address the civil rights violations faced by Jewish Americans, especially students. A U.S. House of Representatives Staff Report released in December 2024 highlighted the government’s inaction in combating anti-Semitism.
PRESIDENT TRUMP’S COMMITMENT TO KEEPING PROMISES: During his first term, President Trump fulfilled major promises related to Israel and peace in the Middle East.
- He relocated the American Embassy to Jerusalem, recognizing the city as Israel’s capital.
- President Trump brokered the Abraham Accords, leading to the normalization of relations between Israel and several Arab nations.
President Trump has now pledged to:
- Protect the civil rights of Jewish citizens and be a strong advocate for the community.
- Take decisive action to enforce the law, maintain public order, and prosecute anti-Semitic crimes.
- Deport individuals sympathetic to Hamas and revoke student visas for those involved in radical activities on college campuses.
