Affiliate of DOGE Linked to Offensive Social Media Posts Resigns Amid Lawsuit

A federal judge has temporarily restricted members of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) from accessing the Treasury Department’s payment system following a lawsuit filed by three union groups. The lawsuit accused Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent of unlawfully sharing members’ information with Elon Musk’s cost-cutting team.

US District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly issued the order, limiting access to the payment records system to only two DOGE employees, one of whom resigned shortly after. The employees, Tom Krause and Marko Elez, were designated as “special government employees” by the judge and granted “read only” access to payment records.

Unfortunately, Elez, who previously worked for Musk at SpaceX, resigned from DOGE after being connected to racist posts on social media platform X. The Wall Street Journal reported on his controversial statements, leading to his resignation.

The union groups involved in the lawsuit expressed concerns over the potential illegal sharing of their members’ information with DOGE. The temporary order prevents DOGE from making any modifications to the payment records system or sharing data related to Treasury’s financial transactions.

It was revealed that Elez had made inflammatory remarks on social media, including expressing support for “eugenic immigration policy” and displaying animosity towards individuals from India. The disturbing posts prompted his resignation from DOGE.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed Elez’s resignation in response to inquiries about the offensive posts linked to him. The incident highlights the importance of maintaining professionalism and integrity in government roles.
