Exploring Acapulco with Simon Miller’s Spring 2025 Collection
Chelsea Hansford has once again embarked on her globetrotting adventures, this time landing in the vibrant city of Acapulco, Mexico for Simon Miller’s latest spring 2025 collection. Known for its laid-back Los Angeles aesthetic, the brand’s new offering is a delightful mix of knit sets, breezy linens, and playful fringe details.
Embracing the essence of the coastal destination, Hansford drew inspiration from the natural beauty of Acapulco. The collection features an abundance of raffia, a material synonymous with Simon Miller, with pieces reflecting the colors of the rocky cliffs and the swaying palm trees. The accessories, in particular, were influenced by the charming fringed raffia umbrellas she encountered at her hotel.
Among the standout pieces are the knit intarsias and smocked poplin skirt sets, which pay homage to the lush palm trees through leaf prints and intricate hand-painted designs by Hansford’s husband. Additionally, the signature Lock Top—a versatile cotton poplin button-up with a back cutout and tie detail—has been refreshed with new striped colorways, including forest green and white, as well as tangerine and salmon.
While Simon Miller’s Lock Top continues to be a crowd favorite, there is a sense of longing for Hansford to push boundaries and experiment with new ideas. While staying true to the brand’s core aesthetic is important, exploring uncharted territory could bring a fresh perspective to future collections.
As we eagerly anticipate the release of Simon Miller’s spring 2025 collection, we can expect a fusion of Acapulco’s natural charm with the brand’s signature laid-back style. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting collaboration!
