The drama continued on Grant Ellis’ season of The Bachelor as tensions rose between Rose and Carolina, ultimately leading to Rose’s self-elimination from the show. The episode aired on Monday, February 17, and showcased the fallout from the ongoing feud between the two contestants.

The episode began with the group traveling to Spain, where Dina, a 32-year-old attorney, received the first one-on-one date with Grant. Despite describing herself as an “ice queen,” Dina opened up about her struggles with sharing her feelings due to being one of 11 siblings. Grant compared her to his mother and gave her a rose at the end of the date.

Carolina, who had previously gone on a one-on-one date in Vegas, was disappointed to find herself on a group date in Spain. Her discontent with the situation was evident as she expressed her desire for more solo time with Grant, even joking that she hoped he would kiss someone in front of her.

The group date activities included a donkey ride and mechanical bull riding after a matador class. Zoe, a tech engineer and model, shared her experience of being adopted and growing up as a Black woman in a predominantly white neighborhood, leading to a candid moment with Grant. However, Grant chose not to give out the group date rose after Juliana confronted Carolina about her lack of gratitude for time spent with Grant.

Juliana’s confrontation with Carolina led to emotional turmoil, with Carolina breaking down in tears. Grant comforted her, prompting Juliana to apologize for her role in the situation. The dynamics among the women further highlighted the tensions within the group.

Later in the episode, Grant went on a second one-on-one date, bungee jumping in the rain with Serafina, an associate media director. Despite initial concerns about Serafina’s level of attraction towards him, Grant appreciated her honesty and vulnerability, giving her a rose.

During the cocktail party, Grant addressed the drama between Juliana and Carolina, emphasizing the importance of expressing concerns directly to him. Meanwhile, Rose, who had been struggling with anxiety following her past drama with Carolina, felt betrayed when Dina comforted Carolina in front of the group. The unresolved issues with Carolina ultimately led Rose to decide to leave the show, expressing her feelings of invalidation and disappointment.

The episode concluded with Rose informing Grant of her decision to self-eliminate before the rose ceremony, citing the impact of her conflict with Carolina on their relationship. The emotional turmoil and unresolved tensions among the contestants set the stage for further drama and revelations in the upcoming episodes of The Bachelor. “This is definitely a tipping point for me.” These words echoed through Grant’s mind as he stood at the rose ceremony, grappling with the departure of Rose. Despite the hurt he felt, Grant knew that her decision was a reminder to all the women vying for his heart that they had a choice to be there.

As Grant handed out roses, tensions ran high among the remaining contestants. Parisa, already having a bad day, was dealt another blow as Carolina secured the final rose. With each rose given out, Grant found himself narrowing down his options, left with only seven women – Carolina, Dina, Serafina, Zoe, Juliana, Litia, and Alexe.
