President Donald Trump
Slams MLB for Excluding Pete Rose from Hall of Fame
… Commits to Granting Full Pardon

Published February 28, 2025 10:23 PM PST

With the start of the baseball season approaching, President Donald Trump took a swing at MLB on Friday night, criticizing the league for not inducting the legendary Pete Rose into the Hall of Fame.

The President, an avid baseball enthusiast, expressed his disappointment with MLB leadership and Hall of Fame voters for excluding Pete Rose, also known as ‘Charlie Hustle,’ even after his passing.

“Major League Baseball lacked the courage to honor the late, great Pete Rose by inducting him into the Baseball Hall of Fame,” Trump stated on Truth Social.

“Although he is no longer with us, Pete Rose, who was a superior player compared to many Hall of Famers, was denied this recognition and can only be acknowledged posthumously. It’s a disgrace!”

“In the coming weeks, I will be granting a full pardon to Pete Rose, despite his past conviction for tax evasion related to autograph sales in 1990,” Trump continued.

The President highlighted Pete Rose’s exceptional career achievements and called out baseball for its reluctance to recognize his contributions.

“Pete Rose holds the record for the most hits in baseball history and has achieved more victories than any other athlete. Baseball, struggling in various aspects, should take action and induct Pete Rose into the Hall of Fame, despite the delay,” Trump emphasized.

Following a ban in 1989 for betting on baseball games, Pete Rose remains ineligible for Hall of Fame induction, a decision upheld by MLB over the years.
