A recent incident at a Mexican theme park left thrill-seekers stranded on a stalled amusement ride nearly 250 feet above the ground during a rainstorm. The group of riders had a harrowing experience as they were pelted by wind and rain while screaming for help. Fortunately, the ride was eventually lowered to the ground after about 10 minutes, and no injuries were reported.

Viral footage of the incident shows the Six Flags Mexico’s Supergirl Sky Flight ride at a standstill, highlighting the intense situation the riders found themselves in. Despite the temporary shutdown of the attractions due to the storm, all guests were safely evacuated, and the ride resumed operation later that day.

The Supergirl Sky Flight, also known as SkyScreamer or Star Flyer, is a popular ride found in many amusement parks worldwide. Riders are hoisted into the air in swing-like chairs attached to a rotating tower, offering a thrilling bird’s eye view of the park below.

However, due to its height, the ride is susceptible to inclement weather. Similar incidents have occurred in the past, such as one at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey, where riders were left dangling above the ground during a storm. These situations can be terrifying for guests and highlight the importance of safety protocols during extreme weather conditions.

Despite the challenges posed by adverse weather, amusement park personnel are well-trained to handle such situations and ensure the safety of all guests. While incidents like these can be unsettling, they serve as a reminder of the risks associated with thrill rides and the importance of prioritizing visitor safety at all times.
