Recently, Republicans have been facing scrutiny over the state of the economy under Trump’s leadership, with many questioning their lack of solutions. During a recent interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, Sen. Rick Scott attempted to deflect blame onto Joe Biden for the economic disturbances caused by Trump’s policies.

Scott claimed that Trump inherited a struggling economy from Biden, despite the fact that Trump actually took office with a strong economy. He also tried to portray Biden as ineffective in creating manufacturing jobs, even though data shows that Biden oversaw a significant increase in manufacturing jobs during his time in office.

When pressed by Tapper about the impact on Americans living paycheck to paycheck, Scott continued to misrepresent the situation by falsely claiming a 20% inflation rate under Biden. Tapper corrected him, pointing out that inflation was high but not nearly as extreme as Scott suggested.

The reality is that the US economy saw job growth for 48 consecutive months under Biden, a feat that has rarely been achieved in history. Despite these facts, Republicans like Scott continue to push false narratives in an attempt to shield Trump from criticism.

As Trump’s failures become more apparent and the economy continues to falter, it is clear that Republicans will need to come up with better responses to tough questions. Blaming Biden for Trump’s shortcomings is simply not a viable strategy.
