A University of Pittsburgh student, Sudiksha Konanki, went missing while on spring break in the Dominican Republic. She was last seen at the Riu Republica Resort beach wearing a distinctive brown bikini and various accessories.
Konanki, 20, who is an Indian national studying at the University of Pittsburgh, was vacationing with five friends when she disappeared. The Indian embassy, along with officials from Loudoun County, Virginia, and Dominican Republic agencies, are actively involved in the search efforts.
University of Pittsburgh officials are working closely with Konanki’s family and authorities to aid in the search and ensure her safe return. Crews from multiple agencies, including drones and military choppers, are combing the beach and surrounding areas for any clues or signs of Konanki.
