Chelsea Handler recently spoke at SXSW and shared her thoughts on Elon Musk’s influence over Donald Trump. She questioned whether anyone actually voted for Musk to be the president, emphasizing the need for bipartisan agreement to prevent such a scenario. Handler expressed concerns about Musk’s role in the administration, particularly his task to “dismantle” the U.S. bureaucracy through the Department of Government Efficiency, also known as DOGE.

Musk had claimed that he could cut $2 trillion from the federal budget, suggesting that his involvement would lead to significant changes in government spending. When Kara Swisher jokingly suggested that Handler should date Musk to limit his influence over Trump, the comedian humorously declined, stating that she would not go to such lengths for the country.

Transitioning to the topic of vice president JD Vance, Handler criticized his views on women, stating that men who seek to restrict women’s independence are antiquated and boring. She highlighted the power and independence of women in today’s society, emphasizing that the current political climate reflects men’s fear of female empowerment.

Handler’s remarks at SXSW shed light on the intersection of politics, technology, and gender dynamics in the current landscape. As women continue to assert their independence and influence, discussions surrounding leadership and representation in government are more important than ever. Handler’s bold commentary serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges and opportunities for progress in shaping a more inclusive and equitable society.
