President Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration has resulted in the arrest of an undocumented Jordanian migrant accused of attempting to breach Marine Corps Base Quantico. This individual, Hasan Yousef Hamdan, 32, is now facing deportation.

Hamdan, along with Mohammad Khair Dabous, 28, was initially apprehended on May 3, 2024, after allegedly trespassing onto the military base and subsequently placed in ICE custody.

Despite being released on bond in their immigration cases, Hamdan was arrested again on Feb. 7 in Richmond, Virginia, under Trump’s stricter immigration policies. This ensured that he would be processed for deportation.

Both Hamdan and Dabous, who overstayed his student visa, were charged with misdemeanor trespassing on military property and were released with conditions to appear for future immigration hearings and avoid military bases like Quantico.

The Trump administration’s immigration policies have led to increased ICE arrests, targeting individuals deemed as “the worst of the worst.” In the first 50 days of Trump’s presidency, ICE made nearly 33,000 arrests, including over 14,000 criminals.

With the surge in arrests, ICE is facing challenges with detention space and is seeking additional funding and assistance from other federal and local agencies.
