Kim Kardashian Denied Purchase of Robert Kardashian’s Bible at O.J. Simpson Estate Auction
Following O.J. Simpson’s passing last April, his personal assets are now up for auction to settle his remaining debts. Among the items on the auction block is a bible gifted to Simpson by Robert Kardashian, Kim Kardashian’s late father.
Kim, 44, expressed interest in purchasing the bible for $15,000, but estate executor Malcolm LaVergne revealed that her offer was rejected as the item was already slated for auction. LaVergne also noted that the low price offered by Kim was a determining factor, stating that it would not make sense to sell it for the same amount it was offered.
Now, Kim will have to bid on the bible like any other potential buyer. LaVergne hinted that this might actually work in her favor, suggesting that she could potentially acquire it for less than her initial offer. Currently, the top bid for the bible stands at under $10,000.
Described as a token of friendship and support during a tumultuous time in Simpson’s life, the bible was gifted to him by Robert Kardashian with a heartfelt inscription dated June 18, 1994, the day after the infamous Ford Bronco chase. The inscription conveys a message of love and faith, encouraging Simpson to find solace in God’s words.
Robert and Simpson had a longstanding friendship dating back to their college years at the University of Southern California. Robert was a key member of Simpson’s legal team during his highly publicized trial for the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, which ended in an acquittal in 1995. Despite his criminal acquittal, Simpson was later found liable for the wrongful deaths in a civil suit and ordered to pay $33 million to the victims’ families.
As the auction for the bible continues, Kim Kardashian remains hopeful that she may still be able to acquire this sentimental piece of history associated with her late father and the controversial figure of O.J. Simpson.
