The crisis in Yemen involving the Houthi rebels has reached a critical point, with shipping costs skyrocketing and the global economy at risk. Seth Mandel from Commentary warns that the Western leaders must act now to stop the Houthi threat. The Trump administration, just like Joe Biden, must make the decision to confront the consequences of their past mistakes regarding the Houthi rebels. Allowing the situation to continue would be disastrous, as it would set a dangerous precedent for 21st-century piracy.

Meanwhile, in Europe, there is a wake-up call on defense as the United States considers withdrawing its security umbrella. European countries, which have historically underinvested in defense, are now faced with the possibility of having to fend for themselves. The public indifference to defense spending may change as the reality of a potential Russian threat looms over the continent. The question remains whether Europe will step up to the challenge if the U.S. steps back.

In a powerful message, Cardinal Dolan emphasizes the importance of rejecting antisemitism within the Christian faith. As the Lenten season approaches, Catholics and Christians are urged to reflect on the rejection of hatred and racism towards the Jewish community. It is essential to remember that every human life is sacred, regardless of race or religion. Pope Francis has reiterated the need to banish antisemitism from society and uphold the values of Christianity.

On a different note, The Wall Street Journal’s Matthew Hennessey sheds light on the fact that not all migrants come to the United States with good intentions. Some, like pro-Hamas agitator Mahmoud Khalil, harbor resentment towards the country and its values. The recent deportation threat against Khalil has brought attention to the issue of ungrateful immigrants who seek to cause harm. Hennessey argues that those who come to hurt us should not be tolerated and should be sent back to their home countries.

Lastly, in the UK, free speech is under threat as speech authorities become more powerful and vague offenses lead to arrests and prosecutions. Anti-abortion protesters and individuals like Jamila Abdi have faced criminal charges for expressing their opinions. Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has expressed concerns about the lack of freedom of speech in the country, stating that individuals risk imprisonment for speaking their minds.

In conclusion, these global issues highlight the importance of addressing threats to security, promoting tolerance and respect, and upholding the fundamental right to freedom of speech. It is crucial for leaders and individuals alike to take a stand against injustice and ensure a better future for all.
