“It’s literally on him” – Stephen A. Smith bluntly calls out Draymond Green for underperforming in Warriors loss to Nuggets

Stephen A. Smith did not hold back in his criticism of Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green after the team’s disappointing loss to the Denver Nuggets. Despite the Nuggets missing key players Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, they managed to secure a 114-105 victory over the Warriors. Aaron Gordon was the standout performer for Denver, scoring 38 points and grabbing six rebounds.

The Warriors struggled on the offensive end, shooting just 24.2% from beyond the arc and 55.6% from the free-throw line. To make matters worse, they committed a staggering 20 turnovers during the game. Smith, speaking on First Take, singled out Green for his lackluster performance against the Nuggets, where he contributed 10 points, six rebounds, and five assists.

Smith reminded viewers of Green’s bold statement during All-Star Weekend when he guaranteed a championship for the Warriors. He emphasized that it was Green who made that promise, not Stephen Curry or Jimmy Butler, and now it was up to him to deliver on it. Smith pointed out that teams often leave Green open at the 3-point line, and it is crucial for him to capitalize on those opportunities.

Highlighting Green’s importance to the team, Smith emphasized that if Green can knock down his open shots, it can change the dynamics of the team and potentially lead to upsets in the Western Conference. While acknowledging the abilities of Curry and Butler, Smith stressed that Green’s shooting could be a game-changer for the Warriors.

Green, known for his defensive prowess and playmaking abilities, has a career 3-point shooting percentage of 32.1%. However, he has shown potential in the past, shooting 39.5% from beyond the arc in his best season. Smith’s message was clear: Green needs to step up and deliver on his promises to elevate the Warriors’ performance.

Despite the criticism, Green achieved a significant milestone during the game against the Nuggets by becoming just the sixth player in Warriors history to grab 6,000 rebounds. His wife, Hazel Renee, took to Instagram to express her admiration for Green’s accomplishments, praising his dedication and hard work throughout his career.

From being a second-round draft pick in 2012 to becoming a key player in the Warriors dynasty, Green’s journey in the NBA has been nothing short of remarkable. As the Warriors look to bounce back from their recent loss, all eyes will be on Green to lead by example and make a significant impact on the team’s success.

In conclusion, Stephen A. Smith’s critique of Draymond Green serves as a reminder of the expectations placed on the Warriors star and the importance of his contributions to the team. Green’s ability to improve his shooting and deliver in crucial moments could be the key to the Warriors’ success in the upcoming games.
