RESTORING CONFIDENCE IN AMERICAN ELECTIONS: In a decisive move today, President Donald J. Trump enacted an Executive Order aimed at safeguarding the integrity of electoral processes across the United States.

  • This Order enhances voter citizenship verification measures and prohibits foreign entities from meddling in U.S. elections.
    • The Election Assistance Commission will now mandate documentary proof of U.S. citizenship on voter registration documents.
    • Federal agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Social Security Administration, and Department of State, are tasked with providing states access to comprehensive Federal databases to authenticate the eligibility and citizenship of individuals registering to vote.

    • The Attorney General is instructed to prioritize the prosecution of non-citizen voting and associated offenses, leveraging DHS records and collaborating with state attorneys general.

  • Federal funds related to elections will be contingent upon states’ adherence to these integrity measures, including the stipulation that states utilize the national mail voter registration form, which will now require proof of citizenship.
  • The Order aims to bolster electoral integrity by mandating updates to the Voluntary Voting System Guidelines 2.0 and enhancing security standards for voting equipment, with a focus on allocating federal grant funds appropriately.

    • This includes the necessity for a voter-verifiable paper ballot record and the prohibition of ballots where the counted vote is encoded in a barcode or QR code.

  • The directive calls for the Attorney General to establish information-sharing agreements with state election officials to detect instances of election fraud or violations of election law.

    • States that do not comply may face prioritized federal enforcement actions concerning election integrity laws and potential loss of funding due to their failure to address fraud.

  • The Attorney General and Secretary of Homeland Security are charged with ensuring that non-citizens do not partake in the administration of elections.
  • The Attorney General will rigorously enforce voter-list maintenance requirements as stipulated in the National Voter Registration Act and the Help America Vote Act.
  • In light of established federal law that mandates a single Election Day deadline, the Attorney General will pursue appropriate measures against states that count ballots received post-Election Day in federal elections. This enforcement will be tied to federal election funding compliance.
  • The Attorney General will emphasize enforcement of laws barring foreign nationals from contributing to or donating in U.S. elections.
  • All agencies are required to report on their compliance with revoking Biden Executive Order 14019, which transformed federal agencies into platforms for Democratic voter mobilization.

ENSURING VOTING SECURITY: President Trump acknowledges that free, fair, and transparent elections—free from fraud, errors, or doubts—are vital to the health of our Constitutional Republic.

  • The United States falls behind other nations in implementing fundamental election safeguards.
    • For instance, countries like India and Brazil connect voter identification to a biometric database, while the U.S. largely depends on self-declaration of citizenship.
    • Germany and Canada mandate the use of paper ballots for vote counting, whereas the U.S. employs a disparate array of methods that often lack reliable chain-of-custody protections.

    • Denmark and Sweden sensibly restrict mail-in voting to individuals unable to vote in person, disregarding late-arriving ballots, while American elections have adopted widespread mail-in voting, even permitting ballots to be counted post-Election Day.

  • Without rigorous enforcement of federal laws, illegal voting, discrimination, fraud, and other forms of misconduct threaten to dilute the votes of legitimate American citizens.
  • Although federal law establishes a uniform Election Day for federal elections, numerous states flout these regulations by counting ballots received after Election Day.
  • The Biden Administration had previously hindered states from purging non-citizens from voter rolls, while foreign nationals and non-governmental organizations exploited loopholes to inject millions into influencing U.S. elections.

REINFORCING ELECTORAL SECURITY: Citizens deserve elections they can trust, and confidence in the electoral process is being reinstated under President Trump’s leadership.

  • President Trump is fulfilling his commitment to secure our electoral processes.
    • President Trump stated: “We’re going to fix our elections so that our elections are going to be honorable and honest, and people will leave knowing their vote is counted. We will have free and fair elections. Ideally, we will transition to paper ballots, same-day voting, proof of citizenship, which is crucial, and a simple voter ID system.”
    • President Trump further asserted: “We will secure our elections, and they will be secure once and for all.”

  • In contrast to the Biden Administration, which often prioritized political agendas over electoral fairness, President Trump is shifting the power back to the American populace.
