Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) has announced the inaugural West Coast event of his “Fighting Oligarchy” tour, setting his sights on Los Angeles.
The Sanders campaign shared a statement announcing:
On April 12th, Senator Bernie Sanders will commence the fourth leg of his national “Fighting Oligarchy: Where We Go From Here” tour with a rally at Grand Park in downtown Los Angeles.
Further events will be unveiled in the upcoming days.
Overall, the Fighting Oligarchy tour has attracted an impressive 107,981 attendees across seven states. The latest series of events set records, including the largest political rally in Arizona and a turnout of over 34,000 in Denver, marking the biggest crowd Sanders has ever drawn. In total, livestreams of the tour have achieved over 5 million views.
While the Denver event recorded the largest political gathering of the year, each stop on the Fighting Oligarchy Tour has either reached or exceeded venue capacity.
In fact, some events had to be relocated to larger spaces to accommodate the unexpectedly high turnout.
In his statement, Sanders remarked, “Today, the oligarchs and the billionaire class are accumulating wealth and power at an alarming rate. Meanwhile, 60% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck, struggling to afford healthcare, childcare, and housing. This country belongs to all of us, not just a privileged few. We must fight back.”
Additional West Coast tour stops will be announced soon, though Sanders has yet to visit the eastern and southern regions of the United States, including Texas.
Event organizers are encouraging attendees to utilize public transportation or rideshare options for the rally.
Currently, no other speakers have been confirmed, and more dates will be released shortly.
The Fighting Oligarchy Tour stands as the largest political tour of the year thus far, effectively mobilizing individuals and energizing them to push back against the influence of the billionaire class.
