Welcome to the Dunedin Arts Festival!

Are you seeking a fresh perspective or some sage advice? Look no further than the People’s Oracle.

Step into a whimsical world where a 1950s typist gathers words of wisdom from the public – from plant care tips to the importance of clean underpants. All the right answers are then fed into the Oracle, ready to provide you with life-changing insights.

Get ready to ask your burning questions and experience a revelatory light-bulb moment! It’s an interactive and fun way to gain a new perspective.

If you’re in a contemplative mood, be sure to visit The Sea Inside Her. This exhibition showcases paintings, poetry, and a short film by Dunedin dance icon Kilda Northcott, exploring our relationship with nature and the concept of separation from it.

Experience something truly unique with Wellington creative Marcus McShane’s Velocine. Using a pedal-powered film projector, McShane will illuminate Dunedin’s streets with captivating images of nature accompanied by specially-composed soundtracks.

For a more laid-back experience, head to Tūhura Otago Museum for Ad Parnassum — Purapurawhetū, a film created by local filmmaker Daniel Belton that provides a full-immersion experience in the museum’s dome.

Don’t miss out on the musical magic of The Backyard Skiffle Band at The Octagon on Saturday, where you can join in on the fun and dance to their lively tunes.
