The Busan International Film Festival has announced the nominees for the sixth annual Asia Contents Awards and Global OTT Awards. Leading the pack with five nominations is PTS Taiwan’s “Imperfect Us,” followed closely by Indonesian Netflix series “Cigarette Girl” with four nominations. Notable mentions include Wong Kar-wai’s series debut “Blossoms Shanghai” and Korea’s “A Killer Paradox” on Netflix.

In the best lead actor (male) category, actors such as Hu Ge, Yim Si-wan, and Choi Woo-shik are vying for the award. On the other hand, the best lead actor (female) category sees talented actresses like Dian Sastrowardoyo and Park Bo-young in the running. The best director category features filmmakers like Alisher Utev and Kamila Andini.

Adding a new twist to the awards, a best original song category has been introduced, featuring songs from various popular shows. The jury panel includes esteemed individuals from the entertainment industry, such as actors and producers.

In addition to the awards ceremony, the festival will also feature a special program dedicated to Portuguese filmmaker Miguel Gomes. The program titled “Miguel Gomes, a Filmmaker of Joyful Melancholy,” will showcase eight of Gomes’ works, including his latest acclaimed film “Grand Tour.”

Moreover, the BBC has secured the rights to over 1,000 episodes of the popular anime series “One Piece” for the UK audience. The show will be available on BBC iPlayer, marking the first time the dubbed versions are accessible in the UK.

In the music world, The Chainsmokers have collaborated with Indian artists Guru Randhawa and Jonita Gandhi on a remix of their hit track “Addicted.” The new version features Punjabi verses and has been well-received by fans worldwide.
