A 17-year-old boy has been charged with robbing two victims on a CTA train and carjacking a man on the West Side less than an hour later. This incident marks the second time a 17-year-old has been charged with these crimes.
The robberies took place on a Blue Line train near the Racine stop around 9:10 p.m. on March 21. According to the Chicago Police Department, one of the robbers brandished a firearm while they stole valuables from a 16-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy.
Shortly after, the teens then proceeded to pull a gun on a 57-year-old man and steal his car in the 3600 block of West Grenshaw.
The newly charged teenager is facing three counts of armed robbery and one count of aggravated vehicular hijacking. Due to his juvenile status, the police have not released his identity.
The previously charged boy is also facing charges for two additional robberies on a Blue Line train that occurred on March 13.
