Zoom Platform Restored After Outage

Zoom, the popular video conferencing platform, has successfully resolved an outage that affected its services for a significant portion of Wednesday afternoon.

In a post on X around 2 p.m. Pacific, Zoom expressed gratitude for the patience and understanding of its users, stating, “Service has now been restored after the earlier outage, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding.”

The disruption started around 11:40 a.m., as reported by The Verge, with data from Cisco’s ThousandEyes platform. Users encountered difficulties logging in and received error messages like “Unable to Connect” when trying to join meetings. Additionally, Zoom’s website and media inquiry inbox experienced downtime.

By noon, over 59,000 users had documented issues on DownDetector.com, a website that tracks outages.

The exact cause of the outage remains unknown. Speculation from The Verge suggests a possible DNS-related issue, referencing a Reddit thread. When asked for clarification, a Zoom spokesperson directed inquiries to the aforementioned X post.
