A horrific incident unfolded in a Long Island home when a 15-year-old boy resorted to violence after his computer was taken away by his mother. The teen’s anger escalated to a deadly level, resulting in a tragic outcome for his family.

The altercation began when the boy’s mother, Vanessa Chendemi, confronted him about missing school classes. In response, his grandmother, Concetta Chendemi, suggested that his computer be confiscated as a form of punishment. This suggestion triggered a violent reaction from the teenager, who grabbed a knife and attacked his grandmother before turning on his mother.

Vanessa Chendemi, injured from the attack, fell to the ground and pretended to be dead while the teen continued his assault. The brutal attack on his mother involved more than 35 stab wounds before the teen fled the scene. The injured mother managed to seek help from a passing driver, who then called 911 for assistance.

Upon arriving at the residence, law enforcement officers found Concetta Chendemi with fatal stab wounds. Despite the tragic outcome for the grandmother, Vanessa Chendemi was taken to a local hospital for treatment of her serious injuries.

The teenager was apprehended later that night and charged with murder and attempted murder in the second degree. He appeared before Judge Karen Kerr for arraignment and was ordered to be detained without bail as the legal proceedings continued. If convicted, he could face a prison sentence of 15 years to life.

Suffolk County District Attorney Tierney expressed deep sorrow over the devastating impact of the incident on the family. The trauma caused by a child’s violent actions against their own relatives goes beyond physical harm and leaves lasting emotional scars. The district attorney’s office is committed to seeking justice for the victims of this tragic event.

The tragic circumstances of this case serve as a reminder of the importance of addressing conflicts and emotions in a healthy and non-violent manner. The consequences of resorting to violence can have severe and irreversible effects on families and communities.
