Petar Petrov’s spring collection stood out for its meticulous design ethos, reminiscent of a well-tailored suit imbued with an air of nonchalance. Expecting a hint of extravagant lamĂ© and a playful bowtie on strappy sandals, viewers were instead presented with an elegant, tightly edited array of garments. The color palette primarily featured neutrals, while a striking deep green leather added an unexpected yet sophisticated touch. The garments boasted strong shoulder silhouettes, subtle pleating, and linen-blend materials, together producing an orderly geometric composition that was both appealing and modern.

However, beneath this structured aesthetic lay an intriguing sense of freedom and flexibility. “I appreciate that feeling of being undone, not overly precise, as there’s a certain versatility in how you can wear these pieces,” Petrov reflected. This collection skillfully incorporated elements from previous collections without compromising its unique identity. The designer’s reference to “undone-ness” transcended mere disarray; rather, it emphasized the celebration of the human form. Utilizing stretch silks and jerseys, Petrov channeled the fluid elegance associated with Vienna’s Secessionist movement. With today’s digital saturation, he expressed a desire to reconnect with tactile experiences, focusing on how fabrics interact with the body. Luxurious worn leathers, crisp linens, and second-skin stretch materials were crafted to drape and move seamlessly with the wearer, echoing a sense of embodied grace—particularly evident in looks 3 and 25, which hinted at Martha Graham’s artistic influence.

While many pieces leaned towards an ethereal quality, a few leather garments strayed from the seasonal vibe, presenting a contradiction to the spring theme. Nonetheless, the overall impression articulated a more sensual narrative than one of strict control. As Petrov noted a notable shift towards more conservative dressing in contemporary fashion, he emphasized the importance of confidence and freedom in personal style: “We need to embrace a liberated approach to our wardrobe and cultivate confidence in our choices.”
