Rep. Elise Stefanik is demanding a federal investigation into an upstate school district for allegedly violating President Trump’s executive order prohibiting transgender athletes from participating in girls’ sports.

The Saratoga Springs City Board of Education, located in Stefanik’s district, passed a resolution on March 27 affirming support for transgender students to use facilities and participate in activities based on their gender identity.

Stefanik swiftly sent a letter to US Secretary of Education Linda McMahon urging her to look into the district’s actions.

Stefanik argued that the board’s decision goes against Trump’s executive order and Title IX, which prohibits sex-based discrimination in federally funded schools and programs.

If found in violation, the school district could risk losing part of its $3 million in federal funding.

Stefanik emphasized the importance of upholding Title IX and Trump’s executive order in her letter to McMahon, stating that biological males should not compete in girls’ sports or share locker rooms with girls.

She called the school district’s policy a “blatant violation” of federal law and urged McMahon to launch a formal investigation to ensure accountability and protect female athletes.

Stefanik also expressed concern about the rise of “Far Left woke ideology” in communities and emphasized her commitment to safeguarding the rights of girls and daughters in sports.

Aside from her stance on transgender athlete policies, Stefanik has been vocal about addressing antisemitism and hate speech in elite universities like Harvard and Columbia.

She recently co-signed a letter demanding transparency from Harvard regarding its compliance with federal laws while receiving funding.

Stefanik’s efforts to hold universities accountable for combating antisemitism have gained attention, with Harvard’s then-president resigning amid controversy.

It is evident that Stefanik is committed to ensuring that schools receiving federal funding comply with anti-discrimination laws and maintain a safe environment for all students.
