What’s next for Onya Nurve?

Next for Onya Nurve, I want to focus on my music. I’ve always loved music, and I have a couple of singles that I’ve put out. I want to focus on that and hopefully put out an album soon. I also want to continue touring, meeting fans, and spreading the message of love and acceptance. I want to inspire other young kids who may not feel like they fit in to know that they are loved, they are accepted, and they are valid. This win is not just for me, but for all the queens out there who have a dream and are chasing it. I want to continue to be a beacon of hope for them.

Any final words for your fans and supporters?

To all my fans and supporters, I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your love and encouragement have carried me through this entire journey. I couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you. I hope to continue to make you proud and bring joy and entertainment into your lives. Thank you for believing in me, and I promise to continue to shine bright and spread love wherever I go.

And with that, Onya Nurve, the newly crowned winner of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Season 17, signed off, ready to take on the world with her newfound crown and platform. As she continues to inspire and uplift, her journey is far from over, and fans eagerly await to see what she will conquer next.

Winning “Drag Race” is a dream come true for many queens, but for me, it was a manifestation of my unwavering determination and focus. I vividly remember the moment I told my brother that I was going to not just compete on the show, but win it. That declaration set me on a path where nothing could shake me, nothing could deter me from my goal. The delusion of drag, as some may call it, worked in my favor as I stayed laser-focused on my ultimate prize.

Performing the final lip sync to Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra” was a moment of pure exhilaration. The pressure of the competition culminated in that one performance, where Lady Gaga herself set the tone with the category of ‘dance or die.’ I knew that to succeed, I had to fully embody the song and serve it with every fiber of my being. Despite not being known for elaborate reveals or gags, I became the gag in that moment, leaving a lasting impression on the judges and audience alike.

After the final lip sync, a wave of relief washed over me. Regardless of the outcome, I had given it my all, and that was a victory in itself. As I reflect on what this win means for me and my fans, I hope to showcase the true essence of drag beyond the glitz and glam. Drag is about the person behind the makeup, the joy they bring to the world, and the authenticity they embody. My win is a testament to the power of staying true to oneself and spreading positivity through one’s art.

Looking ahead, I have big dreams for the future. I envision myself on the latest season of “Abbott Elementary” with Quinta Brunson, gracing the stages of “SNL,” and starring in movies alongside some of my favorite actors like Viola Davis, Kerry Washington, and Meryl Streep. The sky’s the limit, and I’m ready to soar to new heights in my career.

As for rest, there’s no time for it in this whirlwind of success. The show must go on, and I’ll be hitting the clubs, bars, and cities with the same determination and passion that brought me to this moment. I’ll sleep when I’m dead, but until then, I’ll be living my best drag life to the fullest.
