Musician found guilty of domestic violence continues fight for name suppression

An acclaimed musician who was convicted of domestic violence in February is still fighting to keep his identity confidential. The musician was found guilty of two out of the 11 domestic violence charges brought against him by a former partner. These charges include assault on a person in a family relationship and assault with a weapon. In March, he was sentenced to 80 hours of community service.

His lawyer, Susan Gray, has confirmed that an appeal for name suppression has been filed after Judge Simon Lance denied the musician permanent name suppression during his sentencing. Despite this, the musician was granted another month of interim suppression until April 29, as Gray indicated her intentions to appeal.
