Islamabad:

Former three-time Pakistan Prime Minister and the founder of the ruling political party, Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N), Nawaz Sharif, has given advice to his younger brother and current Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, to utilize all diplomatic resources available to restore peace with India. He emphasized that he is against adopting an aggressive stance.

The Sharif brothers met in Lahore on Sunday evening, where Shehbaz briefed Nawaz Sharif on the decisions made by his government in response to India, particularly after the National Security Committee (NSC) meeting following India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) in light of the Pahalgam attack.

Sources from IANS mentioned that Shehbaz Sharif outlined the steps taken by his government in response to India’s actions, including the closure of airspace for India. He also discussed the country’s readiness to retaliate against any aggression from India with a strong response.

“PM Shehbaz informed his elder brother and party founder that India’s unilateral decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty has increased the risk of conflict in the region,” the source revealed.

Nawaz Sharif advised PM Shehbaz to avoid taking an aggressive stance and to resolve tensions through diplomatic means.

Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has urged India to establish an international commission comprising officials from countries like the United States, Russia, China, and Britain to investigate the Pahalgam attack.”
