The Netflix Comedy “North of North” Renewed for Season 2
The popular Netflix comedy series “North of North” has been officially renewed for a second season, as reported by Variety. The show, which is a co-production between Netflix, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), and the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN), originally premiered in Canada on Jan. 7 and later on Netflix on April 10.
The storyline follows a young Inuk woman named Anna Lambe, who is determined to carve out a new future for herself following a very public exit from her marriage. Set in a small Arctic town where everyone knows each other’s business, the challenges she faces in her journey are both relatable and heartwarming.
The talented cast of “North of North” includes Anna Lambe, Maika Harper, Braeden Clarke, Jay Ryan, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Kelly William, Zorga Qaunaq, Bailey Poching, Nutaaq Doreen Simmonds, Keira Belle Cooper, and Tanya Tagaq.
The series was created by Stacey Aglok MacDonald and Alethea Arnaquq-Baril, who also serve as executive producers alongside Miranda de Pencier, Anya Adams, Susan Coyne, and Garry Campbell.
Upon hearing the news of the show’s renewal, lead actress Anna Lambe expressed her excitement, stating, “When I got the call about ‘North of North’ being renewed for a second season, my heart exploded in the best way possible! I’m so thrilled and overwhelmed with joy, and I can’t wait to head back to Ice Cove!”
Season 1 of the series was directed by Anya Adams, Aleysa Young, Renuka Jeyapalan, Zoe Leigh Hopkins, and Danis Goulet, with a team of talented writers including Aglok MacDonald, Coyne, Campbell, Arnaquq-Baril, Kathryn Borel, Jr., Linsey Stewart, Moriah Sallaffie, Aviaq Johnston, and JP Larocque.
