In a striking announcement, Attorney General Pam Bondi revealed that the Trump administration has successfully seized more than 22 million fentanyl-laced pills since taking office in January.

“Today marks Fentanyl Awareness Day,” Bondi declared on the X platform this Tuesday.

“Within President Trump’s first 100 days, we have seized over 22 million fentanyl-laced pills, potentially saving over 119 million lives.”

“We are tirelessly advocating for families who have lost loved ones, those whose lives hang in the balance, and for the very soul of our nation.

“Our mission is clear: we will not rest until this deadly poison is eradicated from our streets, and those responsible for its distribution are brought to justice.”

The fentanyl crisis in America has escalated into one of the deadliest drug epidemics in the nation’s history, claiming over 100,000 lives annually.

This synthetic opioid, which is up to 50 times more potent than heroin, is frequently mixed into counterfeit pills or street drugs, often unbeknownst to users, significantly heightening the risk of overdose.

Yesterday, @AGPamBondi toured the @DEAHQ forensic lab for a firsthand look at how experts detect and disrupt the spread of illicit fentanyl.

The production of this drug primarily takes place in China, with trafficking routes running through Mexico, where drug cartels manufacture pills designed to imitate legitimate prescription medications.

On his inaugural day, President Trump classified Mexican drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations, thereby granting law enforcement enhanced powers to apprehend and detain individuals suspected of colluding with them.

In related developments, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has not dismissed the possibility of military action against cartel bases.

“All options will remain on the table when confronting entities designated as foreign terrorist organizations that specifically target Americans at our borders,” Hegseth stated back in February.
