During a drive with a woman and child on Friday afternoon, a man was injured in a shooting following an argument with another driver, as per Thornton police.
Police responded to the scene at 104th Avenue and Colorado Boulevard around 5:50 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting, according to a social media post from the police department.
Authorities suspect that the altercation between the two individuals escalated when the suspect, described as a short, “chubby” Hispanic male with long hair, pulled out a handgun and shot the man in the arm.
The suspect fled in a red or maroon Jeep Grand Cherokee, while the injured man was transported to a nearby hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Thornton Police Department representative Kylynn McTague mentioned that as of Saturday morning, law enforcement was still searching for the shooter.
