Fox has exciting news for fans of its live-action comedy series. Both “Animal Control” and “Going Dutch” have been renewed for new seasons, with “Animal Control” returning for Season 4 and “Going Dutch” coming back for a sophomore slate in the 2025-2026 TV season. The announcement was made by Joel McHale and Denis Leary on stage at the Variety FYC TV Fest.

Fox TV network president Michael Thorn expressed his enthusiasm for the renewals, highlighting the comedic talents of Joel McHale and Denis Leary. He praised both series for their unique characters and humor, stating that they provide a strong foundation for Fox’s comedy block. Thorn emphasized the shows’ focus on irreverent workplace humor that is both outrageous and unpredictable, promising fans more laugh-out-loud moments in the upcoming seasons.

Both “Animal Control” and “Going Dutch” are produced in-house by Fox Entertainment. “Animal Control” has seen a significant increase in viewership when considering multi-platform viewing, while “Going Dutch” has become the network’s most-streamed new comedy.

In addition to the comedy renewals, Fox has also greenlit new seasons of several other popular series. The medical drama “Doc,” starring Molly Parker, will return for 22 episodes next season, following its success both critically and commercially. Animated favorites like “Bob’s Burgers,” “Family Guy,” and “The Simpsons” have all received four-season renewals, along with the return of “American Dad.” New animated series “Krapopolis” and “Universal Basic Guys” are also set to come back.

While many shows have already been picked up for next season, others are still on the bubble. Series like “The Cleaning Lady,” “Alert: Missing Persons Unit,” and “Grimsburg” are awaiting renewal decisions, while “Rescue HI-Surf” and “9-1-1: Lone Star” have unfortunately been canceled. Fox is expected to announce its full 2025-2026 schedule in the coming week.

“Animal Control” follows the adventures of Frank Shaw, an Animal Control officer with a unique ability to understand animals but struggles with human interactions. The show features a talented ensemble cast including Michael Rowland, Vella Lovell, Ravi Patel, and Grace Palmer, and was created by Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg, and Dan Sterling.

“Going Dutch” stars Denis Leary as U.S. Army Col. Patrick Quinn, a brash officer reassigned to a less strategic army base in the Netherlands. The series also features Taylor Misiak, Danny Pudi, Laci Mosley, and Hal Cumpston in a hilarious ensemble. Created by Joel Church-Cooper, the show is produced by Fox Entertainment Studios.

Both “Animal Control” and “Going Dutch” are distributed globally by Fox Entertainment Global, with “Animal Control” already sold in over 70 territories. Fans can catch these hit comedies on various platforms around the world, including Channel 4 in the U.K., Foxtel’s FOX8 and Binge in Australia, CBC and CBC Gem in Canada, and TVNZ in New Zealand.
