NBC has decided to cancel the comedy series “Lopez vs. Lopez” after three seasons, according to a report from Variety. The show, which starred George Lopez alongside his daughter Mayan Lopez, as well as Selenis Leyva, Brice Gonzalez, Matt Shively, and Al Madrigal, will not be returning for a fourth season.

The series was co-created by Debby Wolfe and the Lopez family, with George Lopez, Bruce Helford, Michael Rotenberg, and Katie Newman serving as executive producers. Additionally, Lesley Wake Webster, Marcos Luevanos, Keith Heisler, and Dan Signer were co-executive producers, while Mayan Lopez and Marc Solakian were producers, and Erica Harrell and Desiree Proctor were co-producers.

The third season of “Lopez vs. Lopez” followed George as he navigated his sobriety and the challenges of aging, all while dealing with family dynamics and personal growth. Rosie, played by Mayan Lopez, also faced her own struggles in the aftermath of a failed engagement, while their son Chance rebelled against his parents as he entered his pre-teen years.

George Lopez is no stranger to television, having starred in previous comedy series like “George Lopez,” “Lopez,” and “Saint George.” He also hosted the talk show “Lopez Tonight” on TBS for two years.

The cancellation of “Lopez vs. Lopez” leaves NBC with several other comedy series awaiting renewal decisions, including “Night Court,” which was also canceled after three seasons. On the flip side, “Happy’s Place” starring Reba McEntire and “St. Denis Medical” have been renewed for second seasons. The network is still awaiting announcements for freshman dramas like “Suits LA,” “Brilliant Minds,” “Grosse Pointe Garden Society,” and “The Hunting Party,” as well as sophomore shows “The Irrational” and “Found.”

As NBC prepares for its upfront presentation in New York on May 12, fans of “Lopez vs. Lopez” will have to say goodbye to the beloved comedy series. Despite its cancellation, the show will be remembered for its humor, heart, and the dynamic father-daughter duo at its center.
