INTRODUCING PROJECT HOMECOMING: Today, President Donald J. Trump has taken a decisive step by signing a proclamation that establishes Project Homecoming, an initiative designed to encourage undocumented immigrants to voluntarily leave the United States.

  • This proclamation presents a clear choice for undocumented immigrants: depart voluntarily with federal support and financial assistance, or face stringent enforcement measures and penalties.
  • It introduces a simplified departure process through the CBP Home app, offering government-funded flights at no cost to those departing, facilitating travel for individuals without valid travel documents, and providing a concierge service at airports to assist with travel arrangements and access to an exit bonus.
  • The initiative incorporates an “exit bonus,” which serves as a financial incentive for undocumented immigrants who agree to leave the U.S. voluntarily and permanently.
  • Project Homecoming will be promoted through a nationwide communications campaign aimed at informing undocumented immigrants about the program and the potential consequences of remaining in the country, which include removal, prosecution, fines, wage garnishments, and property confiscation.
  • The proclamation also mandates a full-scale, aggressive deportation effort, deploying an additional 20,000 officers to address those who do not choose to leave voluntarily.

ADDRESSING ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION IN THE U.S.: With this initiative, President Trump is asserting his legal responsibility to curb what he describes as an invasion and safeguard American citizens.

  • During the previous administration, the southern border was heavily impacted by cartels, criminal gangs, suspected terrorists, human traffickers, smugglers, and the influx of illicit narcotics.
  • The lenient border policies of the Biden Administration reportedly allowed thousands of undocumented immigrants to enter the United States daily, with approximately 40% of those who were caught and released disappearing entirely.
  • In a noteworthy statistic from 2024, undocumented immigrants accounted for 75% of arrests in Midtown Manhattan for offenses such as assault, robbery, and domestic violence.
  • The influx of undocumented immigrants is placing significant strain on American schools and hospitals, hindering their ability to serve citizens, while diverting billions in federal, state, and local resources that could support Americans in need.
  • In fiscal year 2023, the estimated financial burden of undocumented immigrants exceeded $150 billion, covering expenses related to healthcare, food assistance, housing, education, and emergency services.
  • By promoting voluntary departure through Project Homecoming, the administration aims to alleviate these financial pressures and reallocate resources for American citizens.

SECURING THE BORDER: President Trump is acting on his commitment to fortify the border and prioritize the interests of American citizens, taking swift measures to address the border crisis inherited from the previous administration. Since assuming office, President Trump has:

  • Declared a national emergency at the southern border.
  • Increased personnel at the border, including deploying members of the Armed Forces and National Guard.
  • Revived construction of the border wall.
  • Designated international cartels and criminal organizations, such as MS-13 and Tren de Aragua, as Foreign Terrorist Organizations and Specially Designated Global Terrorists.
  • Suspended the entry of certain foreign nationals into the U.S.
  • Called for enhanced vetting and screening of immigrants.
  • Required identification of countries that warrant a partial or full suspension on admissions.
  • Resumed the detention and removal of individuals violating federal immigration laws.
  • Directed the administration to reinstate the Migrant Protection Protocols, commonly known as “Remain in Mexico.”
  • Ended the use of the CBP One app.
  • Discontinued all categorical parole programs that contradicted the administration’s immigration agenda.
  • Abolished automatic citizenship for children of undocumented immigrants.
  • Paused the operations of the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP).
  • Eliminated catch-and-release policies.
  • Revoked executive actions from the Biden administration that effectively relaxed border controls.
  • Detained high-risk undocumented immigrants in facilities such as Guantanamo Bay and prisons in El Salvador.
  • Removed financial incentives that might entice undocumented immigrants to enter the U.S. by ensuring they do not receive taxpayer-funded resources.
