This June, Movistar Plus+ is set to premiere a captivating three-part documentary series titled “Pedro x Javis,” honoring the life and work of renowned Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar. Created and hosted by acclaimed filmmakers Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, known as Los Javis, this innovative series combines documentary storytelling with musical performances and reimagined scenes from Almodóvar’s iconic films.
At the core of “Pedro x Javis” lies an intimate and profound conversation between the three directors. Filmed over several days, their discussions are filled with unexpected revelations, emotional anecdotes, and previously undisclosed insights into the creative journey of the two-time Academy Award winner. “I think I’ve talked too much,” Almodóvar humorously remarked during the filming process.
The series features contributions from many of Almodóvar’s most iconic collaborators, including esteemed actresses like Penélope Cruz, Julieta Serrano, Rossy de Palma, and more. It also includes appearances by Antonio Banderas and long-time creative partners such as his brother Agustín Almodóvar, cinematographer José Luis Alcaine, and composer Alberto Iglesias.

Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, known for their work on “Veneno” and “La Mesías,” serve as producers and hosts of “Pedro x Javis.” The creative team also includes talented individuals like Brays Efe, Paloma Rando, and Guillermo Mendo, who contribute to the series’ unique storytelling approach.
