Jennifer Lopez suffered a facial injury while rehearsing for the upcoming 2025 American Music Awards.
The multi-talented singer took to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday night to reveal photos from a week prior that showed the extent of the incident.
In one photo, Lopez can be seen holding an ice pack to her right eye, with a visible swollen nose and a cut running across it. Her right eye appeared bruised, and the redness under her eye and over her cheek was also evident.
Another Story confirmed that she needed stitches for her recovery, as she shared a picture with a Beverly Hills-based facial plastic surgeon, expressing gratitude for his help in the caption.
In a subsequent photo, Lopez appeared to be in good spirits, smiling at the camera with no visible signs of the previous injury, indicating that she was on the road to recovery as she prepared to host the 2025 AMAs in Las Vegas on Memorial Day.

This isn’t the first time Lopez has faced health issues related to the AMAs. Back in 2009, she suffered bruising from a fall during a performance at the event, where she landed on a slippery surface due to her dancers’ sweat and lack of shirts for the performance.

Despite the setbacks, Lopez is set to host and perform at this year’s AMAs on May 26, making her the fourth artist in history to host the event twice, following legends like Lionel Richie, Diana Ross, and Pitbull.
Prior to her injury, Lopez had been actively promoting the AMAs on Instagram, building anticipation for the event with her fans.
