Samsung Galaxy users have been facing battery performance issues with their smartphones after the update to One UI 7. While Samsung took some time to roll out the update to a wider range of devices, including older models like the Samsung Galaxy S24+, users have been experiencing significant battery drain problems.

According to a recent report by Android Authority, many Galaxy users have reported that their phones can no longer last a full day on a single charge after the update. Previously, these devices could easily manage six to seven hours of screen on time with One UI 6. In fact, in our own review of the Galaxy S24+, we noted that it could comfortably last for two days on multiple occasions.

Even the latest Galaxy phones are not immune to these issues. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, Samsung’s current premium foldable option, is also facing battery life challenges. Reddit user slewyn11 mentioned that the phone now struggles to last beyond five hours of screen on time.

To address the bad battery life on One UI 7, it seems a firmware update from Samsung will be necessary. In the meantime, there are some steps users can take to improve their device’s battery life. Users can adjust display settings like lowering the refresh rate to Standard, turning off the Always on Display feature, or reducing the resolution to FHD+ on QHD-capable phones like the Galaxy S24+ or S24 Ultra.

For a more drastic solution, users can try a factory reset and set up the phone from scratch to see if that resolves the issue. It is important to back up all data before attempting this. Additionally, utilizing Samsung’s Power Saving mode can help extend battery life by limiting background app activity, syncing, screen brightness, and location services.

While these temporary fixes may help, the ultimate solution lies in Samsung releasing an update to address the battery drain issues with One UI 7. Hopefully, Samsung will announce a fix soon to ensure a better user experience for Galaxy users.
