Amazon Music Introduces AI-Powered Search Feature “Explore” for Fans

Amazon Music made a significant announcement on Tuesday regarding the launch of a new AI-powered search feature called “Explore.” This innovative feature is specifically designed to help music fans delve deeper into the lives and works of their favorite artists.

Users can easily access the “Explore” feature by tapping the “Find” button located at the bottom of the screen and entering the name of the artist they are interested in. By then selecting the “Explore” tab at the top left corner, users can unlock a treasure trove of information about the artist, including details about collaborations, related artists, and highlights from their discography.

For instance, when searching for Jelly Roll, users will be directed to notable duets like “Save Me” featuring Lainey Wilson. This feature also serves as a platform for Amazon Music to showcase its original content, such as Jelly Roll’s exclusive cover of “Should’ve Been A Cowboy” featuring T-Pain.

In addition to exploring artist information, users will also have the option to create AI-generated playlists. Amazon Music’s introduction of Maestro, its own version of Spotify’s AI DJ, last year has been integrated into the Explore feature. This move is aimed at encouraging more users to experience the AI playlist function and enhance their music discovery journey.

While the primary objective of Explore is to enhance user engagement and foster connections with artists, it also comes on the heels of Amazon’s recent price increase for its Music Unlimited subscription by $1. This indicates a strategic effort to entice users to embrace the new subscription cost of $11 by offering compelling new features like Explore.

The rollout of Explore begins today for select Amazon Music Unlimited subscribers in the U.S. using the iOS app. It is worth noting that this beta feature is currently limited to only 10,000 artists, including popular names like Bad Bunny and BLACKPINK, among others.
