Tom Cruise Admits Going Too Far with Stunts

During a recent appearance on Australia’s Today show, Hollywood star Tom Cruise confirmed that he is constantly busy with filming, prepping, and posting films. He proudly mentioned that there are numerous other projects actively in the works as well.

At 62 years old, Cruise’s body is feeling the strain after enduring a series of injuries from death-defying stunts that could have easily been fatal. Despite acknowledging to Mission: Impossible writer Chris McQuarries that he tries to “kill him” with the stunts featured in his films, Cruise shows no signs of slowing down.

A source close to Cruise expressed concern over the extreme physical toll these stunts are taking on the actor, stating, “Tom is dicing with death every time he steps on set. There’s admiration for his efforts, but also real concern. At some point, something could go very wrong – it’s actually like he has a death wish.”

Despite the risks, Cruise confirmed on the Today show that he will continue to work on the Mission: Impossible franchise and other action-heavy roles, including a sequel to Top Gun: Maverick.

Throughout his four-decade career, Cruise has endured various injuries, including a shattered ankle while filming Mission: Impossible – Fallout in 2017 and a torn shoulder muscle during a fight sequence in Mission: Impossible III in 2005. He has also suffered cracked ribs, burns, and a torn hamstring while performing his own stunts.

During his appearance on the Today show, Cruise discussed the future of the Top Gun franchise, stating, “Yeah, we’re thinking and talking about many different stories and what could we do and what’s possible. It took me 35 years to figure out Top Gun: Maverick, so all of these things we’re working on, we’re discussing Days of Thunder and Top Gun: Maverick.”
