Jessica Simpson recently made her first TV performance in 15 years, and she couldn’t have done it without her guitar player, Stanton Edward. The Nashville-based musician joined Simpson on stage during the American Idol season 23 finale, where she sang her new song “Blame Me” and her hit “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’.”

After the performance, Simpson took to Instagram to thank Edward for his support, acknowledging that she wouldn’t have been able to keep her cool without him. The singer also shared her nerves leading up to the performance, revealing that it had been a long time since she felt that level of anxiety. She even had to put hairspray on her feet to try and stay still on stage.

American Idol host Ryan Seacrest confirmed that this was Simpson’s first TV appearance in 15 years. She shared the stage with former season 23 contestant Josh King, who had been eliminated earlier in the season. Despite her nerves, Simpson delivered a powerful performance that left fans in awe.

In an interview with Extra, Simpson opened up about the emotional moment on stage and how she had to fight back tears. She also acknowledged that taking a 15-year break from TV performances was a significant amount of time, but felt that the timing was perfect for her return.

Simpson’s return to music has been well-received, with the release of her EP “Nashville Canyon, Pt. 1” in March. The singer has been reconnecting with her musical roots, showcasing a more vulnerable and raw side to her artistry. She recently performed at the Recording Academy’s Austin Chapter Block Party during SXSW in Austin, Texas, marking her return to live music after 15 years.
